Kudrin says coronavirus can cost Russian economy 0.1–0.2 pp 2020

MOSCOW, Mar 6 (PRIME) -- The real damage incurred to Russia’s economy by the coronavirus can be put at 0.1-0.2 percentage points of growth with a more precise figure to be calculated in one or two months, head of the Audit Chamber Alexei Kudrin told reporters on Friday.

“The potential decline of the Russian economy due to the coronavirus (this year) is 0.1–0.2 percentage points, this is preliminary,” Kudrin said.

“Under the estimates of international organizations, the decrease of the global growth can amount to 0.4 percentage points, but this is preliminary information because the situation is developing and we may understand its real parameters only in the next one or two months.”

The Economic Development Ministry will present a new version of a social and economic development forecast for 2020–2022 until April 9.
